You Too Can Participate in Product Testing

Ever wonder how people get paid to test products in their very own home? There aren’t any secrets to this and anyone can do it.

The first step is to register with a market research company who offers their panelists the opportunity to test products – not all do, so you’ll have to be careful when selecting companies to sign up with. After registering, be sure to complete any profilers available within your account. These are short questionnaires that ask you for more information about yourself. It’s helpful to fill these out because your chances of being selected to participate in paid product testing or even an online survey increase dramatically when you do.

The third step is the hardest one – waiting. Usually you will receive an e-mail inviting you to take a survey on a product before you are given the opportunity to test it. The survey acts as a qualifier, making sure that the market research company gives the right people the opportunity to test the product.

If you qualify, the product to test will usually come in the mail and included will be instructions on how to relay your feedback on the product. This could be a series of surveys about it at different time intervals, only one survey after you’ve adequately tested the product, etc. Once you complete these, you may or may not be able to keep the product – you will be told even before you receive the product to test. Most product testing assignments allow the panelist to keep the product.

After you give your feedback on the product, you will be given your reward. This will also be specified in the e-mails you receive about the paid product testing study, again, even before you receive the product. You may receive cash, or a gift card, points to redeem for merchandise, etc.
